I’m ready—start Day One →The governing principle
Some assignments are yours. Some are inherited expectations. Some are opportunities that arrived without authority. Some were right for an earlier season and are now consuming capacity that belongs elsewhere.
The reset does not teach you to abandon responsibility. It forces you to tell the truth about which responsibilities deserve present execution authority.
The seven-day sequence
Use paper or a notes document. Write the answers. Thinking alone is not completion.
Write every active responsibility, promise, project, obligation, open loop, financial pressure, relationship demand, and unresolved decision you are carrying.
You cannot establish order over a load you refuse to make visible.
End-of-day question: Which item surprised you by still consuming mental capacity?
Review the inventory and mark each item: stop, pause, delegate, decline, complete quickly, or continue.
Capacity is often recovered before it is expanded.
End-of-day question: What are you afraid will happen if you stop carrying the wrong thing?
Pressure describes intensity. Priority describes rank. They are not the same thing.
Do not let another person’s anxiety become your command structure.
End-of-day question: Which “urgent” item lost authority when you tested it?
For each major commitment, write why it has authority. Use specific evidence—not guilt, image management, fear of disappointing people, or the need to prove yourself.
Strategy that ignores stewardship is hustle wearing a suit.
End-of-day question: What commitment has been surviving only because you never challenged its authority?
Need stronger language for this process? Clear Lines: The Book is the $20 framework.
Select the one outcome that the next 30 days must carry. It should reduce risk, unlock capacity, generate necessary momentum, or fulfill a neglected responsibility.
For the next 30 days, the load-bearing priority is to [finish one measurable outcome] because [state the real consequence].
Then identify the three supporting actions—and prohibit unrelated additions until the priority is complete or formally re-evaluated.
You cannot execute ten priorities. You can only neglect nine of them.
End-of-day question: What becomes easier, safer, or unnecessary when this is finished?
Create rules that protect the load-bearing priority from new requests, new ideas, and emotional switching.
A decision rule is authority written before the negotiation begins.
End-of-day question: Which rule will protect the most capacity?

Operating standard
The reset is a decision-and-execution framework. Its value depends on honest inventory, responsible judgment, and completed action.
